Casa Ferreirinha, Planalto Branco Seco Reserva, Douro

Appearance is medium yellow, light intensity. On the nose, pronounced lime zest, pear and gooseberry. Delicate white floral and vibrant fresh garden herbs (basil, parsley come to mind). Mild flinty-ness. On the palate, lovely refreshing crisp acidity, very mild tropical fruit flavor of kiwi or banana. Nice weight and complexity. Pairing this - rather surprisingly - with a baked salmon steak with heirloom tomato, olive & caper "Niçoise" sauce.

Very versatile, able to stand up to robust dishes and light fare. Every sip seems to reveal a different and wonderful flavor. Outstanding

Smooth and crisp, terrific with spicy foods and salads alike. Peach and honey on the nose with green apple, pear and a light caramel finish. An excellent white blend from red wine country.

Clean pear fruit nose with the flavours delivering ripe pear and lime flavours too with a delicious mineral streak on the finish. Very good and consistently reliable wine.

Broadbent Vinho Verde, Port, Madeira : Moderate intensity rose petal (medium terpenes). Light in the mouth. Dry. Moderate alcohol - 12% (actually 12.5%). Medium plus acid. Moderate phenolic bitterness. Kind of like a lighter, less aromatic, dry Muscat.

"High Plains", 12.5% abv Sharp green apple/green pear note on the nose, herbs and citrus; smooth, rounded texture. Zesty acidity keeps things lively.

Schöner mineralisch frischer Weiswein. Leichte Säure, geht in die Rieslingrichtung. Angenehm.
