My favorite of the Chiantis- more well-rounded, less acidic, a little chocolate-y, and like the fun name and label after the nearby oak grove. Compared to 2020 Chianti Classsico (woody, linear, nothing too stand out) and 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva (group consensus that it needed more time, too alcohol forward).

I'm more inclined to drink this now rather than wait. The richness of the fruit (I think plum/dark berry) seems to be its calling card. I gave it a brief decant. It's a solid weekday wine.

This is such a pure, unadulterated wine. It has intense cherry fruit on the nose and in the mouth. There's the scent of violets and some mint too. It has volume and flesh and wonderful balance between fruit and structural elements. Tannins give some chew to the super-long finish and there's a gentle uptick of breezy, minerally acidity.

Interesting weeknight Chianti ... evident but smooth tannins, food-friendly acidity, and a darkish, spicy fruit character.

1st of 6 bottles, enjoyed at the beach w/fresh pepperoni pizza. No formal TN, just seemed advanced upon opening, but loosened up and found some brighter fruit after an hour or so. Drink through 2027 or so.
