Nicolas Potel Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées

This was drinking very nicely tonight. Initially the nose was dominated by sous bois and mushroom, but with a bit of air it revealed some lovely dried red berry fruits, crushed limestone, dried lilac, and a hint of spice. The palate is still going well with juicy acidity, some definite tannic structure on the finish, and overall good depth. Probably not getting any better, but should still hold for a few years at least.

Drinks at Mood Indigo (Mood Indigo, Jalan Kilang Barat, Singapore) : Not bad, but not that exciting either. On the nose, a faint whiff of chalk and talcum powder shaded rather ripe notes of dark cherries and berries and a little twist of earthy sous bois. Not very Chambolle smelling to me. On the palate, a mouthful of citrusy acidity and some very fine tannins traced their way though rather light flavours of dark cherries and a touch of spice. …
