The cork shows some leakage and I'm worried that the wine is bad. At first, there is a pretty strong cheese-like mustiness on the nose, but none of the reductive notes that I found in my last bottle, almost nine months ago. After about fifteen minutes of air, the cheese notes have dissipated and the wine is clearly sound. Not only is it sound, it's pretty good. Reductive nose upon opening, sulfur and strong cheese. Dissipated somewhat with air. The palate is cleaner than the nose, showing baked apple, a lot of minerals, with a chiseled exterior. Lean palate, strong minerality, lemony fruit, no noticeable oak, high acidity, overall very brisk and classic Chablis.
