En god Pinot, bra balanserad, jordig, jordgubbar, hallon, kryddig och bra fruktighet.

Popped and poured, performing better than my last bottle I had several years ago. Complex nose of cherries and flowers. Very ripe and long. Still holding on. Will hold another 5 years but nothing to gain by doing so. Enjoy it now where it's at peak drinking window. A truly great vintage for Givry.

Heavy seepage from the cork, thought the wine might be done. Cork was a little crusty but not musty. Nose was clean and elegant, that “good burgundy nose”. Color light garnet, fruit a mix of sour cherry and raspberry, notes of spice. Very nice. 2016 has some finesse.

Tasted over 3 hrs, bottle from secondary market -med red mild bricking -a bit of sous bois warm earth plum cinnamon spice -med acidity, med weight earthy tart cherry saline mineral sous bois red apple peel, med- tannins, starts to be a bit oxidative in last hour -fully mature quite good, first time tasting this cru and producer

Ripe cherries with spice. The fruit is almost new world density Good acidity I am slowly forming the opinion that 2016 is a vintage I really like. More cork seepage than I expected but the wine was pristine. Surprisingly good Givry. Great QPR. £26 from TWS.

I don’t know what phase this 2016 is going though, but this wasn’t pleasant. Very strange taste profile, immensely reductive. Sad because this was a joyous wine. Maybe it will come out of this phase, I assume it will, but no signs of that yet.

Pretty oaky and toasty on the nose. This gets a lot better with air. This pours light ruby in the glass. The nose is elegant and restrained, gradually unfurling to show sour cherry, raspberry, rose petals, perfume, sawdust, toasted hazelnut, chalky mineral, and crushed vitamin tablet. The palate is also light and elegant with bright red fruit on entry with medium minus tannin and medium plus acid. Cork seepage halfway along the cork but the wine was firm and not tainted. though some reductive aromas held for an hour or more. Great structure, the wine is in the drinking window and will, I believe, reward the patience for keeping it. Medium bodied, primary fruit well balanced by some barnyard aromas and tannins. Just a touch of bitter at the end, but that could be the residue of the cork/reduction.

This is showing some class and I'm going to have to be disciplined and keep away from the rest of the case for a year or two. Bright appearance, tart cherry nose that opens to a medium bodied mouthfeel giving way to raspberry and touches of violet. I'm not sure what time will do for this but I'm going to put it out of reach for now.

From a restaurant list, so limited notes. Pale youthful colour. Explosive fruity nose of wild berries. The mouth is dominated by redcurrant, and it is extremely vibrant, with substantial acidity but nothing biting. No oak. Pure unadulterated and uncooked Pinot fruit in all its glory. Gorgeous Pinot. Apparently there were no issues with frost here and unlike much of Burgundy in 2016, yields were normal in the Clos Salomon. Vibrant, sweet cherry fruit, almost gulp-able. Tannins are fully resolved but plenty of acid and a hint of earth notes beneath. definitely time to enjoy this wine.

This has a bigger, more sturdy and rustic nose than the H-N Au Bas de Combe. Spice and smoke, darker toned. Some floral notes, too. Richer and spicier on the palate. Darker, more intense and rustic. Ann liked this one more than the H-N. Eric thought it seemed more modern in style than the H-N. We both preferred the cool, elegance and complexity of the H-N.

La bouche est acidulé, au fruité modéré, elle démontre une grande fraicheur, les tanins sont fins et le boisé bien intégré. C'est bien travaillé. Belle rétro sur la cerise avec une pointe balsamique. Still drinking quite well. Took about an hour or so in the decanter to open up. Plum, ripe dark berry. Great balance and concentration. Hedonistic fruit driven burg. Last sip was the best. Probably can hold a bit longer but after a two hour decant, this wine is in the zone.
