Primrose Dinner (Primrose - Washington, DC) : This showed way better than I was expecting. I was worried it would be a bit tired and too feral, but it was singing. Very pale ruby color with a slight spritz. Gorgeous aromas of raspberries, red apple peel, candied orange peel, rose petals, tobacco, white pepper. Crisp and nervy on the palate. Crunchy, bright fruit (red apple, raspberry, red apple peel) mixed with lots of flowers, tobacco, white pepper, mint.

From memory, pale translucent strawberry, some spritz and funk, underripe trousseau flavors, more interesting than appealing.

Raw and natural with big red fruits with a touch of spritz. Drink up as this is peaked.

Super pretty. Gorgeous light red in color. Nice balance of powerful red fruits on the palate.

Had at a wine dinner. N cherry minerals and herbs and dill P spritzy, cherry, minerals, chalk F average finish with decent structure honestly I would have called this flawed if not being with a pretty experienced group with this producer, this spritzyness in a red wine is not my thing.

Monday Night at Ripple (Ripple - Cleveland Park - Washington, DC) : Spritzy as hell but once that passed the wine was fine. Tart red apples and orange peels on the nose, along with rhubarb and pickles. Some light grip to the tannins but tart as hell. Lots of strawberries, wild cherries, topped with crushed vitamins and chalk, drizzled with pickle. Not for everyone, but I love it.

Laissé décanté pendant 3 heures. Le vin est long en bouche avec une belle acidité. Abondance de fraises et de framboises. J'attendrais peut-être un peu pour ma prochaine bouteille.

Dinner with Aldo Vacca : I didn't really get this wine. Sptritzy and carbonic in the mouth with light raspberry, sweetened cranberry and grapey flavours. Very lightweight and seeming acidic, to be fair, it did not really match the beef dish I had at the time.

Lively, edgy, fruity aroma. This has some spritz on first pour from the dissolved CO2 and needs to be decanted to let it blow off. Then deep, red-fruited Trousseau, but fun and playful, not too serious. Since this vintage first hit US shores, it has really put on some weight and the fruit has come to the foreground. It is quite a dramatic improvement from when I first tasted it. Very drinkable at 11.5%.

Delicious and extremely approachable. One of the most quaffable wines of recent memory. Beautiful aromatics that scream Jura. Bright, pure and tart red fruit. There is a weightlessness that is difficult to describe. Price has gotten pretty silly, but understandable. Lovely wine.

Trousseau, often a shy grape, but really shining due to the skills of Jean-François. Very young and extermely 'Jura'. Lots of fresh fruit and already very balanced.

Vinoblesse Ganevat Tasting & Dinner (Resturant Neva, Amsterdam, NL) : Light fresh, natural wine, grape juice, silky, soft, juicy, delicious in an innocent way, good length.
