Turnbull Cabernet Franc

100% Cab Franc. Had for son's graduation celebration. Loved by all.

Very enjoyable. Will try to let my other bottle sit for another year or two before revisiting.

Solid

Opened at home then recorked and brought to restaurant. At home, it had an alcoholic bite. 1 hour later, it had blown off leaving the most concentrated cab franc we have ever had. Tasted somewhat like a Cab Sav with boysenberry, mushroom, sage and espresso. Full bodied, long finish and great with rack of lamb.

Excellent. Very rich. Fruit is front and center, dark and delicious.

Two hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Boysenberry, bing cherry, plum, fig, and vanilla glaze on the deep, rich, fruit forward nose. Very smooth, full bodied palate, with plush acidity that lingers on the tongue. Firm, full tannins on the long finish. This is hitting on all cylinders and would have been even better with a 4 - 5 hour decant.

In light of a recent thread on WB, fruit day, and the 93.5 CT score, decided to take this for a stroll. Surprised earlier score included no notes, so I was intrigued. 2 hr decant and this was singing. No apparent oak or tannins. Color was purple black, inky texture. Nose of floral bouquet and crushed black and red raspberries—smells like Eastern Oakville (maybe there’s some Leopoldina fruit here?). Vibrant and bright fresh black and red raspberries and cherries.
