Château de Roquebrune Cuvée Reine

Vino Volo Portland (Portland Airport) : Bit tannic and austere but enough fruit and substance to carry the wine. Not the best from LdP but more than adequate. The finish is quite tannic ok but distracting.

100% Merlot. Medium nose shows baked cherry, tobacco, dried rose petals, potting soil, coffee, red plum. Palate matches, medium plus body, dried plums, sundried tomato, roasted red pepper, mushroom note, medium plus tannins take over quickly, definitely needs some meat. Finish medium and dry. Nice value for the region.

Slightly jammy but with enough acidity to not make it obnoxious

100% Merlot. 13 months 25% new oak. Nose shows red plum, black plum, chocolate, cigar box, graphite, cedar. Palate matches fruit notes, nicely dark but fresh and approachable fruit, medium plus tannins at the end do show it's young age, likely better with food. For now hold until it loosens up.
