My Grade: VG+. Very acidic at first, but transformed with 3 hours air. Deep black cherry color, complex nose of cherries, plums, cassis, menthol, black pepper, earth, slight funk. Rounded and smooth on the palate with plums, blue-black fruit, silky tannins, not much structure, medium, juicy, finish. Not so exciting, but pleasant and very drinkable.

Very dark red, smooth with a decent finish. Overall, it is not very complex, but I enjoyed it.

We really liked it! A good bouquet, a little loamy/musty, but good fruit aroma. The taste was nice fruit forward, with lots of acid and tannin, and a nice lingering finish. I'd drink it again any time.

In the bouquet there are dark forest fruits, but overall it is still a bit locked. On the palate the wine has dark forest fruit juice, chocolate and a good concentration. Pleasantly enough the freshness wins it from the extraction. Excellent wine.

Very good. On its own. Sweet but not overly pretentious. Good with light foods.

Inky opaque ruby color ~ Nose of sweet blackberry, black cherry & smoke ~ The palate is big bodied medium +acid & tannins with flavours of cola, green pepper, black cherry & a bit of oak ~ not disappointing but not really memorable either

A cheap and reliable date. Not to be taken out in company unless they serve homemade wine. Also a good choice when kids come back from uni with a posse.

- Brick color with medium forming legs and aromas of black pepper. It's overly acidic and has flavours of acetic acid, black pepper and moldy with a medium body. Coarse texture with a medium finish.

The finish is short and on the bitter side. Seemed thin, with fruit somewhat hidden, and as a result, to me this is a poor representation of Malbec.

Bright, fruit forward with cherry and blueberry leading the nose and palate. Very soft tannins and a somewhat short finish. It's a surprisingly good Malbec for the price. It's also very distinguishable as a Malbec (completley blind you'd know what varietal this was). A good wine for people trying to learn Malbec from other Bordeaux grapes (because it's inexpensive, you can buy several bottles to try with different things).

A bit heavy on the nose, didn't quite open up to reveal much fruit. A bit more musty than WA State Malbecs.

Dark, soft, smooth, tasty. Crowd pleaser for sure. Simple, but a tasty quaff none-the less. No reason to wait. 87

This was a nice bottle for $12.00, It had nice a berry and cherry aroma along with those same flavors. It goes well with a steak . We had the rest of the bottle the next day and it opened up some, Mellowing out some more. All in all a good value.

This wine is designed to taste like a young wine. Maybe even some carbonic maceration. Probably little or no oak treatment, as opposed to it's brother the reserve, whose nose smelled like the inside of a wine barrel. They bring us plenty of pure blueberry fruit. Deep dark glass staining color. Almost tastes like a barrel sample of wine that is not quite finished. Probably did not go through 100% malolactic fermentation. There is a lot of flavor here, but …

Not bad at all. Worth the price. Wouldn't be great with grilled meats as much as its a little on the weak side of malbec land...but it would be very balanced with meat and tomatoes and onions, etc....

Malbec are great change of pace wines for Merlot and Cab drinkers, this Malbec has a spicy plum aroma, dark red color. Flavor is slightly spicy with nice finish. Easy to drink light vanilla oak finish. Will try again get better after opening.
