Popped and poured over the course of the evening. Nose of dusty dark chocolate and plum liqueur. Earthy, linear. Red cherry aftertaste and tartness. Smooth but not flabby. 13 years from vintage and still good drinking. 14+% but no discernible heat. Opened with low expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. Went well with Irish stew. Would suggest this with all sorts of savoury stews and braises.
