Drank at Coquinarius, Firenze. It was completely blown away by the Maremma coming after, so not many memories except that it was average.

Nice fruit flavor, ripe, red, different from Abruzzo style of Montepulciano. Has tannins and a little spice. Easy to drink and likely good with food.

Unfortunately, not only my last bottle, but a weeper as well. The wine is ok, but not nearly as good as the bottle in August of ’08. Some roasted tomato and black olive and cherry, but the fruit is tired and not as bright as it could be. With assorted cheese and olive bread.

An off bottle. Nose of burnt match followed by the good features that this wine is known to deliver. With bowtie pasta under a chicken and pesto sauce.

I hate to see the number of bottles decline of this wine, but I had to pair it with grilled tuna with tomato, olive and rosemary salsa. A killer pairing. This wine is silkier now than it has ever been. One damn fine wine.

A deep maroon with not a hint of age; almost purple in the core. A great nose of tar, loads of leather, cherry and plum with a hint of cassis somehow sneaking in here. Damn, I love this wine. The flavor profile of this is so wonderful. It’s such a food friendly wine. In fact, it NEEDS wine, but then, all real wine does, doesn’t it? The acidity is sharp, the tannins are fine, the fruit is ripe. The fruit …

No formal notes but the black olive in this is wonderfully expressive on the finish. Distinct cherry, cherry pit and earth on the attack with some cigar mixed in as well. This is just an incredibly wonderful wine. with saltimbocco. Highly recommended

Nose of cherry, cherry pit, tar, crushed red fruit, red currants and herbs. 100% Montepulciano that delivers the full compliment of the nose and the added flavors of rosemary and red raspberry. Some drying tannins but the hot finish noted in the last bottle really isn’t an issue here at all. 13% alc. With veal saltimbucco.

Sunday, March 12, 2000 Fattoria Le Terrazzie de Antionio Terni Rosso Canero 1997 Inky black and initially cloudy with no light through the wine. Dark purple almost beyond garnet on the sides. Nose blast of berry and wet earth. This is a tannic timebomb that draws in the mouth. Not to the point of being too astringent, but it has loads of tannins. A big tart berry and cocoa flavor of blackberries, currants and earth with a long finish. Surprisingly …
