This is quite lovely. And not in the slightest bit over the hill. One of the best Bourgogne Blancs I have had in years. Not overpowering. Makes me wonder why I pay more for more expensive burgundy.

Very full and ripe but never buttery. Probably on its last legs but there is a tickle of quality here. In an ideal world this would be a touch crisper, but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Drink now.

Bottle was somewhat corked, which didn't render it completely undrinkable, merely very disappointing. I'm sorry to say I've encountered an above-average proportion of faulty bottles from this producer. Is it going too far to suggest that the basic Bourgogne wines might do better under screwcap?

Toasty, matchstick and farmy nose, quite intense and promising. Fairly thin bodied, oak and acid predominant, average fruit. Nose is 1er-like, palate is representative of its appellation.

WES - Fine White Burgundy (Imperial College London) : Clear and bright. Lemon yellow. Angelica. Fresh and perfumed. Lemon citrus, ripe nose. Dry, crisp, good acidity with a touch of bitterness on the farewell. More lemon on the palate.
