Last of four bottles purchased on release in 2013. PnP, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium gold. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developed aromas of baked apple, marmalade, cinnamon crust, apricot, and honey. Palate: Dry, medium- acid, medium+ intensity, medium+ body, 14.5% abv with developed flavors of dried apricot, cinnamon, and nutmeg with a medium+ finish. Dominated by tertiary characteristics, but near peak - drinking wonderfully. Lovely creamy mouth-feel, solid mid-palate intensity and lengthy finish. Drink now, or over …

This was still enjoyable. It drank much better than the 2010 we had the week before. Nice notes of tangerine with some lemon. Oak is still there, but doesn't overwhelm the fruit like the 2010.

Over the hill but drinkable. Just forgot we had this and waited too long to open.

Cellar tracker app indicated 2017 as outside maturity year. So I opened it fearful it was past it’s prime. It was drinking great. One sixteen is a complicated wine. Some love it some don’t. I’ve never been a huge fan but have bought it to keep my allocation volumes. I stopped buying it on 16. This one, an 11, is my oldest one sixteen. These wines need time. Color is goldish, texture is more creamy, complexity has softened. Very enjoyable.

Deep yellow, rich, honey, tropical fruit, a bit of pineapple. Balanced oak (would prefer less).

8th Annual Holiday Dinner and Cellar Raid - A Month Late (Naperville, IL) : Part of wine dinner and cellar raid so did not take detailed notes. Was available for the few who were looking for whites only. I don't recall tasting but those who had it loved it

Light and weak on fruit. Not what we've come to expect from KB.

Similar to first notes on this. Lots of honey without the oak of the previous bottle. Very subtle and quite delicious. No signs of fading at all

This wine is beyond oxidation. Zero life left.

Opened with roast chicken. A creamy oaky butter saturated palate dominates, with nice straw coloring and quince, cumquat, apple and melon notes. Very solid for those preferring the oaky/buttery style.

This wine's first noticeable characteristic is a Jurassic park amber color, a more intense yellow than I'd ever expect for a California chardonnay. The nose is pleasant, the texture is smooth and balanced, the flavors come with green apple, lightly oaked, hints of honey and a soft little spanking on the finish. Lovely wine. Drink more of this.

It has been 4 years since I last had this vintage. Still some butter but not as previously reviewed. Very good, not great.

A winner! brought to the wine group dinner last night. Following two excellent premier cru white burgs, the KB held its own. Several guys though it was another top white burg. Wish I had bought more

The other notes are right on. Substantial acid with a slightly bitter middle. Mature but far from over the hill. Golden color showing its maturity. Long, tropical fruit finish but significant citrus notes. I found a case of this I didn't think I had, and worried that it would be history. Nope.

Drink now. It's starting to lose its structure. Slightly bitter in the middle, but lasting finish. Nice nose of butterscotch and honey.

Last bottle and i think it is better to drink now then too late. Still, great stuff, oak is almost all integrated giving the wine interesting lemon-vanilla custard notes with some tropical nuances and brown spices. Tactile mouthfeel at first, but cutting a little short on the finish which tells me it might be better to drink now than too late.

This wine is maturing well. Beautiful golden color. Floral noise with a mixture of honey and citrus on tongue. Gorgeous, round mouthfeel. Very happy with this wine.

PnP, moderate chill. Clear, light/med straw color. Big, clean, steely Chard nose. Med/Full body, intense proper varietal flavor. Bright, clean, fruity, good acid with integrated oak, butter and vanilla. Absolutely delicious stuff, ideal drinking window but will hold easily for another 5 years. Long sharp, slight tart finish. Nothing off. Paired with appetizer curry shrimp and buttered scallops. Great showing considering cool/weaker vintage. $67 w/tax, shipping. 93-94

S&E Wine Club - Battle of the AVAs: Howell Mountain vs Stags Leap District (S&E) : Warm up wine for Howell Mountain vs Stags Leap District. Clear pale yellow. Nose started out with some creamed pears, honey, sweet citrus and some light hay. As it had some time to open up it added more aromas of white and tropical fruit. Sharp moderate acidity (7/10) with a moderate body. Definitely needs to integrate further. Thinner than expected and not buttery at …
