Decanted for 3 hours, but I am not sure it needed it. Terrific rich lush red and black fruits. Mushroom, forest floor, asian spices. Singing.

Wow, amazing nose here, red fruit, farmyard, sweet spices. Beautiful fruit on the attack, excellent dry extract on the finish. Wonderful. 94+

This was easily the head turner of the night for my palate! And a great intro to a producer I've heard of but not seen in my market nor offered online from Envoyer, that I can remember? Just what I need, a new Burg producer to chase! But, I plan to. Its also another fine example of the mostly under the radar 2013 vintage. Blind, I likely would have guessed Chambolle or maybe Vosne. Not NSG! That said it does …

Siggy's Annual BBQ (Chez Siggy & Jenny's Place, Mpls, MN) : Tasted. Had this later in the evening and it apparently didn't hit me the same as others. Solid, but not memorable, oh well, maybe next time.

After a two hour decant, the Vaucrains was still a bit tight with some tart cherry notes. Over the next two hours in the glass, this opened beautifully to a full expression of Nuits fruit with notes of iron and rust. The fruit sweetened as well. Nicely balanced with good acidity and tension. I would decant four hours next time, but this was age for quite some time.

Nose: This had been opened for several hours just seeing bottle air (after pouring off a small glass). There is a nuanced take to this that is quite lovely with raspberries, cranberries, sour red cherries, cinnamon sticks, crushed rocks, currants, earth notes, Christmas spices, and violets. Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with tart, medium+ acidity and still youthful, medium+ tannins that also have a fine-grained quality. There is a bit of polish to the feel with excellent depth and …

This is very small 1er cru uphill above Clos de La Roche with similar compositional qualities of the grand cru yet with less density and less power. Good red with with blue fruit, flint and white mushroom aromas that introduce a sweet and stony mouth, decent depth and length lifted by a stony finish for a no brainer red Morey. Typically uphill Morey wine where its stony quality is in balance with a sweet and relatively dense fruit- finishes with …

Tasted at a big Lucien Le Moine Tasting with approximately 30 wines. Less powerful than the 2012 tasted next to it, but with similar depth and impeccable balance, all in a more weightless and super fresh way. More red fruited than 2012, with notes of red berries, flowers, also some ferrous mineral notes again, some sweet spices. It's medium-full bodied (but a touch lighter than 2012), has medium-high acidity and medium-high very good tannin. Excellent length with lots of precision …
