100% Pinot Blanc (!); BW 2018, dgt. 09/22 Ripe apricot, toasted walnuts, limestone, salt, dried orange peel and bitter yeast/fresh baked bread on the nose. Smells quite bitter, with a medium + intensity of aromas. Less bitter on the palate, which is pretty different. That shows flavors of ripe golden apple, ripe yellow peach, brioche and cheese rind. Pale lemon in the glass, intense, developing aromas of lemon, grapefruit, lime oil, kumquat, ginger candy, jasmine, crushed rock, sea spray, parmesean, yogurt. Comes off a bit simple, perhaps too young. In the mouth, the wine is dry, aggressive mousse, med - body, high acid, med alcohol, intense in the mouth with a med finish. Pall Mall 67, Singapore. I see i have a previous note on this which may be more accurate in relation to the unique Pinot Blanc profile. Tonight it is the pereceived dosage that sticks out. Palate bias after a slew of zero dosage Champagnes a few days ago.

Lively crisp crunchy chewy orange tangerine kumquat and flowers - would drink again with enthusiasm - pinot blanc - 100% I think

50% PN 25% C 25% PB. 3g/l. 30 month on lees. Fresh, linear, precise, natural. Great cuvee integration and balance. Delicate apple, even more delicate cream, surrounded by chalk and cold rock.

Luxembourg, Flûte Alors restaurant. 100% Pinot Blanc from the Côte des Bars. Very delicate nose where I got lychee, elder flowers. There was an exotic quality to the nose that threw me off balance. Unlike anything I have tasted in Champagne. More perfumey if that makes sense especially with a very fine mousse not distracting (is there a conscious effort to emulate the style of trailblazer Cedric Bouchard , also from the Côte de Bar?). Return to Willamette; 7/2/2023-7/8/2023 (Portland & Willamette) : And here we have the wine that I’d thought I was buying the other day since we had a conversation about La Bolaree which one hardly sees anymore. smoky, elegant notes of honey, caramel, lots of yeasty notes. yeast, bread, brioche, toast. bruised apples, white peach, hints of grapefruits. citrus also present, lime, underlying oxidative core. med- body, again oxidative driven aromas. more developed than the nose, bruised apples, brioche, honey, caramel. quite a lot of white blossoms. again yeasty, cream, toast, bread, butter. intense, med+ finish.

Very, very good. Such a tropical take on champagne, almost like a superior, sparkling riesling. Nice saltiness, must buy this again.

Calvados-like rich old pear nose, old furniture, candied orange peel, cheesy chalk. Talc/baby powder. Grows on you.
