Tate Merlot Joan Ellen Vineyard

Not impressed. It was disjointed on the first night, and after vacuuming it, the second night, it was DOA. I didn't have the same experience the other taster did, so maybe I just had an off bottle.

Nose shows plum, spice, fresh violets. Palate is expressive, dark cherry, light molasses, cocoa, red plum, red currants, finish medium, tannins medium, acidity medium to medium plus. Lots of fruit layers without being "big", acidity shows talented style, expected more tannic structure especially given the vintage.
