This wonderful balanced CdP was an eye opener. Nice smooth dryness and the impression of alkalinity balance some fruitiness.

Beau Châteauneuf-du-Pape, nez sur le fruit. En bouche, tout en rondeur, bien fondu, ça coule bien. Très bien fait

Semi-Blind tasting of 5 Jupiter wines. One hour decant. The group literally could not agree on the color of this wine. Cherry and plum on the nose, along with lavender, bell pepper, tomato leaf and salami. Strong plum and cherry on the palate with slate and tobacco towards the long finish.

A deep crimson blend of 88% Grenache and 12% Syrah, the 2017 Halos de Jupiter Châteauneuf-du-Pape delivers the goods in every respect. Loaded with red bramble fruits, Provençal herbs, fig, white pepper and mulling spices, it is a full-bodied, freshly acidic wine with well-woven alcohol (listed as 15%) and oak. The tannins are plentiful and carry some grip that is pervasive throughout the dense mid-palate. Finishing long and with notes of iron, this is a tremendous Châteauneuf that is delicious …

Au premier nez, ça sent la confiture de fraises par la suite, des notes de prunes, café. En bouche, belle ampleur, équilibré, beaux tanins.

This was only ok. Took at least an hour for moderate acidity to settle down. Mid-palate fruit was dark cherry. No real spice. I was rather underwhelmed by this bottle, given the price. Would not buy more.

A new CnP for me. It tastes and smells like a sweet Reciota Amarone. I know that Grenache grape can be very potent. But can it be so crafty by itself? My wife said "whiskey in the jar". I have to try it with desert or strong cheese. I can´t make my mind on this one.

Grenache tasting (By FN) : Beautiful bouquet with flowers, ripe red berry fruits and garrigue. On the palate almost overripe fruits, herbs and spices, chocolate, some acidity and soft tannin. It is a surprise that the 16.5% abv is not disturbing and this is in fact a really enjoyable wine.

Floral with a hint of spice and fresh red fruits. Taste - red strawberries and cherries with that hint of spice. Very nice and easy drinking. Recommend.
