A private lunch (Restaurant Cheval Blanc ***, Basel, Switzerland) : Youthful, purple cherry colour; fresh and mineral core, ripe black fruit, violets, warm spices, toasty oak, hint of caramel, juicy and fleshy, firm but ripe tannins, very good length. Like a cross between Syrah and Pinot Noir.
