So in 2015 I wrote this had a few years of gentle descent…. Ok very gentle, since it is still showing good acidity, little more sign of aging, and black berries Opened four hours, decanted two, served cool room temperature Paired with coq au vin, then stilton and brie. Seemed better with the stilton

From a recent "mystery pack" auction purchase. 14.5% abv. Blend of Syrah, Carignan, Mourvedre, Grenache. Cork came out in one piece in great shape with very little staining. This was a really nicely balanced, flavorful, seamless red with interesting Rhone-ish flavor profile. Nice job of blending, as this was harmonious and very enjoyable at this stage in its life.

Wow, after nearly 14 years this Syrah is still drinking well. Wish Bunnell was still making these.

Delicious, still tasting great. Ron really knows how to make syrah intended to cellar. Aromas of black cherry, flavors of plum & leather with a medium finish. A perfect accompaniment to grilled lamb chops.

Another delicious Syrah from Bunnell. Admittedly I like the 2007, a bit more, but it's still a great wine. I get vanilla custard and strawberry on the nose, with spice and fruit in the body. Finish is smooth and has a custard like quality. Its like drinking a fruit tart with vanilla custard and a graham cracker crust, but without the sweetness.

Nice fruit with flinty core. Plum and currants predominated, with soft tannins and medium finish.

Smooth, balanced, spicy overtones. I agree with earlier comments that this is now at its peak and starting on the descent. Seems a gentle incline so should still be more than adequate for a couple of years. I am told that it went very well with (blue) stilton; I finished it off with brie which is not necessarily the best pairing

Not as good as a year ago. Has lost some fruit, with a blander finish. Still a nice wine--drink up as I believe on the down side. Also have 07 and 08 which I think should go on "drink soon" list.

The nose is still rich and concentrated but with a little astringency working its way in. The palate is smooth and still integrated with some nice blue fruit. Starting to lose its finish though. I would start drinking this vintage up this year

Smells of blackberries, blueberries, plum, chocolate and oak. Doesn't smell bad, definitely smells big and you know you are about to get into a big wine. The dark fruits show initially and this has a nice lift into the finish as the wine brightens up a bit and turns slightly tart. The tannins have a light touch and this has good enough acidity in the finish. The alcohol does show and make the finish a touch bitter. The fruit has …

Beautiful Syrah--my first from Washington. Deep colors, nose was smooth with dark fruits predominant. On the palate, fruits and tannins well balanced. Paired with meat/pasta dish. Although the 2006 may have some more life, I think it is at prime drinking period. Ordered case of various vintages and varietals from this winery and am looking to popping some more in the future.

Tar, black fruit and smoke on nose. On palate soft and silky mouth feel with spices wafting from the dark berries across the palate. Heavy but doesn't feel it - nicely worked

Brian's: Lovely raspberry, blueberry aromas with a touch of maple; Silky entry, great purity without being jammy or over done, light earthy minerlality with violet notes; Good concentration, soft silky tannins, medium + body, but not heavy at all; good acidity, nice lift in the mid palate making it elegant. Excellent balance, not exceptionally complex, but one of the best Syrah's I've had from WA, or OR. W/braised short ribs.

Great Bunnell. This wine has a classic big fruit nose of black cherry, plum and blackberry. Very concentrated! On the palate this wine is like silk. It lays out its blanket of flavor throughout your whole mouth. Medium body, lots of dark fruit, a little mineral and a medium finish. Very good.

Excellent wine - lovely deep rich and plush, but iwth enough acidity and tannin to work with food. Pure on the nose without much complexity - blueberry and blackcherry jam. palate is more of the same, really nice, balanced, but lacking some verve and excitement. Almost reminds me of a Victorian shiraz from Oz. Nice length as well.

This wine was solid. Great black and purple fruit on the nose with some smoke and a really nice underlying carmel. On the palate the wine was medium bodied, mouth coating and smooth. Plum, a little earthy and a real nice finish of wood, black cherry and smoke.

I love this wine. Distinctlively peppery and spicy, due to the Viongier cofermentation. Wonderful fruit, not overbearing or too concentrated. With time this wine displays distinct anise and blackberry.
