Unexpected, different nose. Sour red cherry, turned soil and scorched earth. On the palate, bright, juicy and ripe red cherry. Good acid giving it a vibrant profile. Fresh, sweet fruit. Very unexpected and rather un-Merlot-like. Almost pinot noir-esque. Nice and different.
