De Bortoli Sémillon Willowglen

A ridiculously good value wine at £6.90, the semillon is really holding this wine up (there's chardonnay in the blend) and it has developed that classic, smoky/toasty/lemon sherbet flavour of aged semillon. Whilst it hardly prompts great philosophical contemplation, it is stunningly good for the money, really solidly built with a beginning, middle and end, and evokes a time when Australian wine was, without doubt, the best value for money in the world.
