Red fruit aromas. Stewed fruit - strawberries and blackberries. Medium-grained tannins. Finishes with new leather, cooked cranberries and dried orange peel. Amazingly fresh 18 years in, especially paired with cream cheese-based appetizers.

Aged well. At prime drinking period. Solid red garnet color. Medium to full body sweet. Strong cherry notes.

2012 vintage

Pleasantly surprised. Solid wine and drinking well right now. Powerful berry fruit aromas, plums, raspberry flavors. Finished big with sweet, vanilla notes.

Surprisingly good. Quite fruity. Opened up very quickly. I wonder if this would be mellowed out a bit with an extra year or two in the bottle. Drank over the course of 3 hours and not too much change.

big fruit with some licorice and spice to add some complexity. pleased with the QPR. goes well with pizza.

Berry on the nose, dry front with tight structure. Medium mid and finish. European in style (obviously) with acid and tannins making this a good meal wine.

Inky purple color. Leggy and full bodied. Ripe, dark fruit with firm acidity and a hint of spice and vanilla notes from oak.

Dark purple color, shy spicy nose. Still very youthful and fresh, dark fruit and chewy tannins, a fair degree of acidity. Nicely balanced, short finish. Lacks the grip and nuance of the best Primitivo, and doesn't have much earthiness, but it is still very pleasant drinking, and has enough body to stand up to pizza or pasta. Think this will hold for a few more years.

Consistent with my previous TN...this bottle has developed nicely so it is soft on the front with a very nice balance. It has a good bit of fruit but it comes across with light-medium body. Drinking quite nicely right now!!

The wine was much more California than I expected. Rather than showing primarily fruit like most Italian Primativos, theis wine showed moderate fruit and a lot of earthy spice. he wine had nice balance and had a light tannic finish

Lovely wine. Well balanced, easy finish. Mellowed even more in the glass after 10-15 minutes.

Nice fruity nose, deep ruby color. Smooth full body with nice fruit taste, but not the fruit explosion of a Zinfandel. Soft tannins and acid on the medium finish. No green taste at all, just ripe fruit.

Wonderful wine-very fruit forward but a little too tart/acidic. Cherries, blackberries. Does go well with food.

Not a subtle wine - tons of Flavors from dark fruit to cherry abound. I drank this over two days and there was little change the second day. It was actually quite good but a little too much for an evening glass of wine. I think this wine needs food. I have three bottles and the next one I will have with cheese.
