I did like this a lot, but I preferred a Cepparello from the same vintage that I had several days prior, which had a bit better balance and fewer oaky notes. The Cab was noticeable in a good way, but reasonably well integrated and did not detract from but complemented the classic Sangiovese profile of sour cherry, earth, and raspberry. Still some tannin, no hurry but in a good place.

Crimson in color. 14.5% ABV. Tremendous nose of dark fruits, leather, wet asphalt and flowers. Medium body with robust acidity. Rustic fruits and coarse tannins in spades. Dried cherries, tobacco leaves, iron and minerals on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Delicious Sangiovese from a great vintage. This wine will continue to drink well for another 4-6 years.

My fourth of five bottles bought at auction in early 2021, this bottle was just as excellent as the prior bottles (last one drunk in Sept. 2022). The standouts were the fruit and the wine’s balance - wonderful dark cherry with a bit of new leather, underlaid by light remaining tannins. It was even better - the fruit even more vibrant - on day two.

Seriously good. Such aromatic complexity: mushroom, earthy notes, ripe dark stone fruit, fig, dark cherry. Bright acidity, well balanced. Cherry, plum, spice, leather. Almost gamey. Long. A little minerality and some herbal notes, garrigue. Drinking well now and still has time left. Really, really good.

Robe relativement évoluée pour et assemblage 90% SAN 10% CS.Les arômes de fruits rouges (groseille,framboise) se mêlent à des senteurs de sous-bois,d'épices.C'est bien complexe....Le palais est dense sans faille du début à la fin,doté d'une belle élégance également.C'est un vin très plaisant dont la longueur finale est un peu courte.Encore bon pour une dizaine d'années sans problème

Piece of anthology for me. Taste was so clean, nothing wrong. A perfect subtil blend of red fruit, elegant tanins and smoothness. Not the most powerfull wine, but elegance is what comes in my mind here

Blind pair with 06 Flaccianello. Quite similar though this had a touch less concentration and more savory character to the fruit. Still quite young and classically Sangiovese from a rich vintage. Tasty but room to go before it's at peak.

Probably the best bottle so far. Has become a really elegant Chianti now. Bright acidity, fine cherry fruit, great depth, elegant tannins and structure, nice earthy flavors too and just a hint of smoky bonfire flavors. Great wine and can still hold. - 92 points

Clear medium red. Medium weight nose, spice, black cherry, mineral earthiness, and dried mushrooms. Delicious dry earthy Sangiovese flavours and a beautiful textured finish. Love this vintage from Tuscany. This wine is only getting started.

Fantastic. Nose of deep dark red fruits, cherry & black cherry, crushed rock and earth. Lively acidity supports the darker cherry, black raspberry fruit with layers of earth, herbs, mineral and a long intense finish. This wine can easily go 5+ more years - though fruit may start to fade, I impinge it will just get more interesting. Superb

But chez Carol avec les canellonis au Veau et au 4 fromages. Super beau, souple et soyeux. Des cerises, du graphite, du fer, de l`anis et un peu de menthol. Belle acidité avec des tannins fins. La finale bien longue est savoureuse. Excellent encore une fois!

Dissapointing bottle. Muted flavors, high acidity, strong iron notes, but the fruit is dull, and somewhat vegetal with wet paper notes. Cork seemed ok, but I assume there is some level of TCA spoilage. I remember it being much better several years ago. - no rating

Toujours aussi bon, pourra en donner encore plus. Présentement sur son plateau, de belles saveurs de cerises et de mures avec du poivre et de l`anis. Les tannins sont souples et assez fins. Belle acidité et super longue finale. Excellent, il ira loin!

Dynamite Chianti! Dark fruit and pepper, medium to full bodied. As the wine opened and warmed up, the fruit opened too. Still some tannins, though this is in a great place now - super fruit-acid balance. I didn’t decant but doing so is probably best.
