Nice wine right now; dry, a richness that lingers but not in an over extracted way; Lemon, a touch of maybe papaya or some tropical fruit; Not necessarily petrol but something else I could not figure out, There are many layers in this Wine; It makes you think about where this wine is and what it Weill become; I have 2 more and will wait for 3 years or so for the next one

Lunch with Jacqui and friends (Cape Town - Las Cases) : Deep gold with evolved notes of barley sugar, honeyed peach halves towards peach melba and wood smoke. The off-dry palate has some mineral components, but the fruit is drying out, and it is showing a lot of age with creamed honey and spun sugar overriding much else.

This wine has developed since 2020. Without doubt an outstanding wine. Delicate but a the same time high intensity/concentration. Dry, high acidity, med. alcohol, full body. Notes of kerosene, lemon and the finish also with a delicate pineapple. I loved it! It is difficult to believe it will get better in the cellar as it is perfect right now.

Nicely balanced just off dry with a good depth of flavour- merest hint of honey offset by a tad of spicy white pepper and battery acid. Good pair for duck l’orange

Zind-Humbrecht Tasting (Erik Sørensen Denmark (kg arr.)) : 93+/100. Aromas/flavours of stonefruit, kerosene and wet stone (steely). Off dry, high acidity, med+ body, pronounced intensity, long finish. Very good wine. Can drink now but has definitely ageing potential. That is obvious when you compare it to vintage '08, which is far more complex and has more tertiary notes.

A great showing in its style. Clean, balanced acidity, not overly tart, typical Alsace thickness, somewhat oily, marzipan, gooseberry, white pepper, tad of greenery. Very much enjoyable at this stage but I'd say it has 2-4 years more to go before going full petroleum.

Vinen er ganske så rik på nesen med dypere toner av sitrus, fersken og blomster. Også litt kryddertoner her. På paletten har vinen en middels fylde med vekt på friske sitrusfrukter og noe nektar. Krydder her også. Noe kjøligere stil, men greier seg fint og balansen er overraskende bra i denne her. Vinen mangler kanskje litt kompleksitet, men jeg tipper at dette kan gå seg til.

Savory and complex. Aromas of nectarines, apples, moss, petrol, honey, and ginger. Off-dry with 14% ABV; the residual sugar prevents this from being too austere. Rich bronze color. Excellent mineral backbone.

This has really come into prime time. Deep gold in colour. Beautiful balance between fresh and complex. Lovely nose of paraffin, apricots, pineapple. Nice acidity on the palate to balance the fruit and give an off-dry experience. Drink now.

The previous note from Karl_Ek was spot on. I agree on all counts. So, my notes are mostly an update of how this wine has evolved over the past 18 months. Similar fruit profile as noted in Jan 2015, but baked/stewed now. Think lemon curd and key lime pie as opposed to fresh/ripe fruit. There's a petrol nose initially, but with air, that dissipates and gives way to wet stones. It's medium to medium+ in body with an oily mouthfeel …

Medium to deep yellow color. Developing nose with a medium+ aroma intensity. Aromas of honeysuckle, flinty minerals, galiamelon, green pear, lime, lemon and tropical fruits. Very ripe, powerful and concentrated nose. Doubtless Riesling of high quality. Off-dry on the palate with a medium+ acidity and body. The flavor intensity is medium+. Flavors of tropical fruits, lime, honeysuckle and green pear. The finish is medium+ with lots of lime and flinty minerality. This wine has a lovely intensity and balance. I'd …

Opened way too early - like at least 5 years too early. Stony, prickly, and loaded with minerals (first), and spice (second), the fruit struggles to come to the fore. Shows great potential, and very finely crafted; needs a lot of time. Built like a tank, this could really be something in 10 years. 13,5% abv. highly recommended PnP (mistake!), served non-blind.

Interesting and clearly well made wine. High viscosity. Nose quite timid. Palate is rich w petroleum, honeyed floral notes. Pear. Maybe some pecan? Acidity subdued, but that's because the richness and viscosity dominate the mouthfeel. Very nice, but I think it won't improve much from longer storage, should keep well for several years.

Nose is not all that explosive, but on the palate there is some serious fireworks - neroli oil (think a bartender carving in orange peel while making an old fashioned), grilled pineapple meat, peach preserves, perhaps a whiff of petroleum, and a just lucious thick body not too far away from the lightest tokaji wines in richness and complexity, but quite dry. Acidity is not very much to the fore in my view, so I would not save this for …

Color: Pale golden yellow. Nose: Super ripe yellow fruit, honey, pears, elderflower, petroleum and discrete notes of some salty minerals. My girlfriend said that it smelled a lot like pepino. I have never tasted or smelled a pepino so I don't know what it's like but apparently it's something between a pear and a honeydew melon. Palate: Really high acidity that tickles the tip on your tongue. Lot's of green and yellow apple action going on on the mid. The …

From half bottle, cork seems a high-end one. Big, over-ripe, in-your-face wine. Hardly any subtlety or freshness here, just hedonistic concentration, although decidedly complex. Honey, sultana raisins, fruitcake, candied ginger richness, some petrolly Riesling notes. Full-bodied, sweet, enormously dense, acid highish, but it's still viscous, heavy. Some caramell edge to the flavor. Lacks finesse and vibrancy, aftertaste could be more intense. Still balanced and it's hard not to enjoy the richness. 91-92 points

Notes of apple and pear on the nose. Bit of freshly cut grass as well. Sweet, smooth, strawberry, raspberry, a bit of spice, and cotton candy on the palate actually getting thicker and more viscous as it goes. Seems like there is some residual sugar for sure. Not too much, but nice finishing sweetness and smoothness with a nice little bit of spice that rounds things out. Nice little wine for sure. Very enjoyable at the end of a meal.

Super expressive floral nose showing roses and stones with a hint of petrol. The palate shows medium body with great minerality and intense flavors, almost completely dry with just a touch of sweetness wrapped in a backbone of good balancing acidity. Finish is long and intense, completely dry with no sugar. An absolutely great food wine.

Tuesday, October 19, 2004 Loads of petrol, lanolin, lemon and apricot on the nose. With so much in the glass and similar but deliciously intense flavors on the palate, we forgot to even think about the color in the glass until almost half way through the bottle. Richly golden, but still with a touch of green on the rim. The finish of the wine just went on with a smokey, honeyed quality. Good mouthfeel of medium leaning light weight. What …

Just lovely. This is a heck of a food wine. The acidity is just perfect to cut through anything with a little natural oil or added fat. A touch "drier" than most of the recent German Rieslings I've encountered (mostly Kabs and Spats), but "sweeter" than Aussie examples. This fills the gap nicely. This was my last bottle as I gave the other one as a gift to the guy who built my wine fridge. So far, I've liked every …

DeLille Cellars 7th annual Paulee de Woodinville (Woodinville, WA, USA) : (**) Served with the first course of smoked salmon. Very dominant plastic notes, edging towards petrol with some white pepper. On the palate this show some white peach and more pepper. Cleansing acidity with a peach-pit hint of bitterness. All in all, this was a pretty glorious nose with very penetrating acid, a great wine with the food and very fun to sip on its own.
