Domaine Weinbach Gewurztraminer Les Treilles du Loup

Fairly typical, well-balanced and pleasant gewurztraminer, only a bit thin in comparison to other high-end Alsace offerings (such as Trimbach's Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre).

Medium gold colour. Pronounced and developing nose with yellow apples, apricot, lychee, melon, passion fruit, pineapple, oil, cinnamon and rose petal. Pronounced taste of apricot, lychee, melon, passion fruit, pineapple, oil, cinnamon and rose water. Medium (+) long and off-dry finish. Low acidity. Full body. A very good Alsace Gew�rztraminer. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with cheeses.

This is not a style that I enjoy, it was overly sweet, with passion fruit overtone. It’s clearly well made but not my style.

For off-dry works just fine. Better colder.

Lots of floral and apple sauce, oily body, low acid, not bad, very classic, but not much complexity, lacks oomph. Light sweetness worked well with several spicy dishes. Chengdu Impression free for all wine dinner Yarom group.

No rating as I gave Gewurtztraminer a try for the first time. First of all it reminded me Moscato which I don' t like. Very sweet for my taste, low acidity, light to medium body and very intense aromas of roses and ginger. Medium, slight bitter aftertaset. Not my type of wine for sure.
