Carlos Moro, Toro, Finca Valmediano

Single-vineyard Tinta de Toro that's both jammy and spicy. Aromas of black currant and ripe berries with cigar box, pepper, and licorice. On the palate quite rich with tannins that are drying with a mocha finish.

Una Tarde para la Densidad (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid) : Caramel of violets, with anthracite and licorice stick notes. The fruit is suffocated by those aromas. Really does not look like a Toro wine. I am sorry. At least the heat (15 ABV) is integrated. In the mouth it initially does not have the vigor and that runaway force. Only at the end does that energy appear, as accumulated as if it had been a battery-like. Stuff nothing memorable …
