Nice nose with some petroleum, apricot and citrus. Clear aged notes but still fresh and complex. Initially a hint of cured meat (reduction?). Full body, good acidity despite the warm vintage and long finish.

Color: light yellow. Faint but fresh notes in the nose. Taste: a bit of apple-fruit with a firm steely-mineral-acidic backbone, with a good balance. Still has some time to go. 88-89.

From a 0,375 l. bottle. Like earlier tasting notes, but a bit less impressive; because of the match with the haddock with rather strong musterdsauce we had with it? Today 88.

From a 37,5 cl bottle. No formal notes. Excellent wine, ready to be drunk, but still might get more open and gain balance with keeping. 90-91.

True to its name, this wine is all about its mineral characteristics. Though there is some fruit, with grapefruit rind, green apple; lemongrass and some flint smoke. Puckering and prickly acid that initially hits the very tip of the tongue a bit like pop rocks. On the palate it is intensely mineral and salty, with a broad and enjoyably grippy mid palate. Initially the finish tended to fall off harshly, but with about 40 minutes of air that transition moved …

PnP then drunk over two evenings, no TN, from memory. This was absolutely singing. Very expressive nose of mature Riesling, beginning to be tertiary, but still very lively. A mix of petrol, decaying leaves, and a sensation of spicy sweetness as if from a fine gingerbread. The palate is remarkably concentrated and intense, but not at all heavy, with a deep mineral core. We drank it with a marinated steak, and it didn't have a problem to stand its ground. …

Popped and poured. Deep golden yellow color. Bright and clear. On nose - apricot, honey, a little petrol. On palate, wine is sound. Good acid backbone. Some residual sugar but not "sweet" per se. Palate echoes nose really nicely, with a good round mouthfeel, and maybe a little more spice-forward. An excellent wine! So glad I was able to purchase this.

Beautiful light golden yellow, clear. Complex nose and evolved in an interesting way over three days. Apples and pears and tea leaves. On day three it went more towards citrus fruit and a balsamic touch (basil and mint). On the palate I found it quite viscous and a bit tiring to drink, but the acidity kicked in on the finish. It found a much better balance on day three, less thick, fresher and with salinity and lemon zest more on …

There are some of the typical Heerkretz aromas and the palate is flavourfull, but quite tart. Like the 2007, this is going through a fase where it is very closed and reductive. Unfortunately, I dont sense the same intensity in this as I did in the 2007. Drink the 2006 (or younger) while you wait for this (and the 2007) to come around. The Hollbergs seem to open up earlier as well.

Very dense, fine acid structure, very mineraly. Great terroir-Riesling! Good length, it is simply fun to enjoy this wine's minerality. At the beginning, right after the bottle was openend, the wine shows a distinct petrol aroma. This recedes a bit after the bottle has been open for a while. I would suggest to drink the wine now because there simple is no point in keeping it any longer.

This wine is ridiculous in terms of acidity. While awesome now, I will need to wait with the remaining bottles for another 10 years. This will be absolutely legendary!

I was almost knocked of the chair by this wine. The nose is gorgeous with lots of wonderful fruit as green apples, dried apricots and fresh lime. Good harmony between sweet and sour fruit! Big taste, rich and fruity attack on the tongue and a medium long bitterlike finish. Serve it now well chilled and enjoy a fine riesling! I would give it a higher score if the finish was better and it had more complexity.

UWS 2010-01 (@ JB) : Very special wine. Enormously concentrated. Enormous amount of sweetness, but also acidity. At this moment the acidity is dominant in this wine. I wonder how this will age. Will be ok in 15 years from now, but if it will really improve, I wonder. For the pleasure it delivers now only 88.
