We double decanted, primarily because it is easier to pour while serving, after primary decanting for an hour. We both loved this wine. Deep garnet color. On the nose nice dark fruit aromas but augmented with some clove, and leather. The tannins very well integrated at this time, which remained present but played second fiddle to the delicious graphite, leather and residual dark fruits. I wish I had more of this juice. This is an exquisite wine. Nose of black currant and blackberry with hints of sweet fennel and flowers. A slight suggestion of black pepper and dark cocoa. Richly textured with a pleasant mouth coating feel. Tannin leads but the acidity activates to keep it lively and clean. Cassis, plum, creme de violette, toasted vanilla and hints of cocoa. Lingers nice and long. Some dark spice on the finish. Should age nicely but is approachable presently.
