Medium nose shows peppercorn, dried red plum, cedar bark, fresh leaves, light anise. Palate is more generous than the 2020, ripe dark red fruits, medium body, medium plus tannins, medium alcohol, fresh herbal layers, espresso, cigar box. Nice QPR and presentation of Bordeaux at a friendly price point.

Medium++ ..a tad less then expected from a Saint-Estèphe. May have a few more years but ready to drink now. Fully open at 2 hours - A touch of sour on the nose and maybe a touch on the palette, but soft and nicely balanced for its price point. Not a lot of movement. Cherry pie, black licorice, cedar (which is normally not my jam), some blue fruit. Good long finish. Good value. I may pick up a few more.

Deep clear ruby black. Bright aromas and flavors of black cherry, almost candy like in the finish. Bone dry, but not austere, a delicious second wine Slightly bitter finish

A week in Bordeaux (Mouton, Pontet Canet, D'Issan, Langoa & Leoville Barton, SHL, Arbo, Pavie, Fleur de Bouard, Cheval Blanc, VCC, Figeac); 5/21/2023-5/26/2023 (Left and Right banks of Bordeaux) : Dinner @ La Tupina in Bordeaux. PNP. Paired w/ white asparagus and then duck. Lots of sediment. Pleasant wine. Good start to our week in Bordeaux! Brad - heavypourwine.com

Dark with a nice complex nose, very tannic in the mouth, needs lots of aging but good potential.

Black fruit nose, hint of alcohol... Very concentrated loads of fruit, lacking a bit of acidity to balance it...

St Martin day 6. This wine seems made from underdeveloped grapes. Comes across on the nose as perfumed but rather sour to the nose. In mouth its plum skin dominant with immediate underbrush flavors. Mouthfeel is minnerly driven and crunchy. Very short finish and nothing great here.

French Wine Sale at Crystal Wines (Crystal Wines) : Second wine of Chateau Phelan-Segur. Quite a nice nose of sweet blackcurrant actually. But on the palate, just quite an ordinary Left Bank Bordeaux taste with blackcurrant fruit and a bit of graphite. Medium- finish.

NOish. Ok, bordeauxish, wineish, redish. Not bad for if you want a cheap bordeaux and nothing else will do. None of the 2008s I have are that attractive and this does not deviate from the norm. Its compounded by the hardness of St Estephe.
