No particular reason for opening this -- just felt like it. pale garnet, light streaks of bricking throughout. Opened a couple of hours before serving. Aromatics are subtle, but very clean -- loads of tar, black tea, bark, wood smoke, rust, and under-tones of dried cherries and crushed rose petals. Not blockbuster, acid is a bit out of balance on the finish, but all things considered, a lovely, fully mature wine. Tanins almost not evident at this point, but the …
