A big merlot. If you've been disappointed with Merlots that seem closer to Pinot Noir, here's a Merlot that comes in closer to Cabernet Sauvignon. It's got structure an' everything!

This is an awesome merlot, took an hour to really open up. The fruit was a little tired but the secondary flavors were still in balance. The overall this doing great and should be opened soon.

This is on the backside of the drinking window. Try to consume it with as little oxidation as possible.

A little brickish and cloudy in the glass. Decent nose of red berries, with a mildly acidic palate of creamy raspberries, a touch of vanilla and soft tannins.

Same characteristics as my previous note, on the second day I thought I started to detect some tertiary flavors. Drink up, drinking very well right now.

This wine might have been past it's time. It was a few weeks ago I drank it but I remember it being overly ripe without the dark chocolate flavors I remember from a bottle years ago. This was a little disappointing but still a decent Merlot.

This stuff is absolutely delicious. Lots of fruit and mocha on the nose, raspberry, cinnamon, strawberry. No decant is necessary, satin, creamy, with medium body, with a nice acid backbone. This was lip smacking good. I vaccumed the bottle after each pour, the slow ox the next is amazing...it was hard not to drink the whole bottle in one night.

No bricking at the edges, nice deep garnet, good weight on legs. The nose has a definite dust, but with little time in the glass i'm getting blackberries, vanilla, and cinnamon. The mouth feel is soft and silky, not a whole lot of body. The fruit is faint on the initial taste but it blossoms in the mouth. The finish is fairly long for a " simple" wine. I'm enjoying this, but I need to drink the rest of the …

Great wine. Wonderful flavor. The extra few years really mellowed this wine. Good complement to smoked salmon.

Nice full nose with notes of fruit and yeast. Wine is definitely ready to drink and was a hit over dinner with friends. Fruit forward with a nice smooth finish.

Past it's prime. Just ok. A little brown in color, no length and very uneven in taste.

Jessup is in downtown Yountville and tasting is open later than most others, so I assumed we purchased these under the glow of a day's accumulated tastings. However, opened this one up and found it was delicious - rich cherry fruit, true merlot varietal character, easy on the oak - wonderful.

Great wine! Tastes like a light cab. Full bodied and great full pallet. Still a little young but opened up very nice after 45 min.

Has punch! The smell of roasted caramel is dominant on the nose. Full-bodied and complex. What a fantastic wine!
