Improved over the 2 years since the first bottle. Similar flavor profile with added depth, more forest floor, no pétillance, more serious. Agree with others' TN that it does not drink like a sulfur free wine, especially with age. No indication to me that it's past peak.

Clear ruby red, almost no aromatics, lighter to medium bodied, more acidic than balanced, with pleasant salinity, and a finish that hangs on. Enjoyable yet simultaneously a tad disappointing, as prior bottles have been more pleasurable.

With a bit of air showing lovely forest floor notes on the juicy medium body with soft tannins, lower acid, ripe raspberry, currant. Still very primary and delicious with character of Beaujolais, hints of cola, pétillant, garrigue and mineral. More fun than deep, with emerging earthy sensuousness. Cellar temp was perfect. I've had some excellent sulphur-free wines that aged well for 5-8 years and suspect this may also. Entering early peak drinking window in another year?

2017 Bodega Chacra Sin Azufre was aromatic and energetic. The developing Argentinian Pinot Noir was clear and pale ruby in colour with traces of fine suspensions. Aromas of dried strawberry, hawthorn, rose petals and Provençal herbs were followed by green olives, cured ham and a hint of dark chocolate. Previous notes on this are spot on. Gang of Four meets the new world. Piquant dark fruit with a very velvety texture+medium(ish) acid doing the work. Don't imagine pinot! Imagine decent, grippy, warm vintage bojo (dark fruited, velvet bodied, and medium+ acid) with the "interesting/correct" dial turned down and the "fun" dial turned up to 100.

Ever since first tasting the Barda from Chacra about 7-8 years ago, we’ve been big fans of Bodega Chacra. The Sin Azufre is lighter-bodied, delicate and mineral all at once, with a lovely mouthfeel. I love the interplay between fruit, minerality, salinity - al with an incredibly light touch.

As noted below. Cloudy, with a slight bitter note, this wine seemed disjointed and a bit confusing. Upon the pnp, it seemed to have an effervescence that had me wondering if there was a problem with the wine. After a short decant, it blew off and revealed the following. A great nose of cranberry, bitter cherry, rhubarb and herb. Medium body and finish. Everyone agreed that this took some time to warm up to, and for the money, no way!

Light to medium bodied with much better intensity than the Cincuenta y Cinco. less of a natural wine feel than expected with plenty of juicy red fruit, salt and herbs. More than anything I might guess it was a lean Santa Rita Hills Pinot. Very refreshing and easy to put back.

Popped and poured at cellar temp. Very dark purplish hue. I would never in a million years think this was pinot on first whiff. Gamay maybe? Lots of candied orange and kind of brooding oregano spiciness. Kind of a stony, crunchy acid filled attack and then a little sweet tart finish. I will give it some more air to see if it comes together better, but this does nothing to change my skepticism of natural wines.

Tried this at the recommendation of the local wine shop in Telluride. We all liked its simple, bright fruit following a much drier (non-sweet) Vina Tondonia.
