not something i usually drink so i have no frame of reference. very enjoyable, nonetheless. nice medium sweetness, lovely viscosity. i liked the nose but there was a dissenter at the table. i imagine it would be great with some hard cheese.

Ice-cold this is a truly lovely drink - it fills the mouth with marmalade, grapefruit, lemon, peel - all without a hint of sour - finishing long.

Good quality wine, and very interesting! Not sure I like it that much though. Big nose with tobacco, tomatoes, perfume, flowers, menthol, raisins, juniper wood, raw wood, pine wood, banana and lots of liquorice and fennel. Good acidity, very sweet, slight bitterness, round and full bodied. Hides the fortified spirit well with just a warm finish. Not exactly fond of the woody aromas but well worth a try and the measly 10€ I paid for it.

Wine-Pages Offline - London (Vinoteca, Soho) : {cork, 18%} (Nayan & Ann) Gold amber colour. Rich honeycomb and vanilla bean. The palate is liqueured and honeylike, medium/sweet, syrupy and dense in texture but then cutting acid pushes through; this is fresh, with a cold tea character to the flavours, medium/full body, and a medium length finish. Oh, very nice indeed.

This has caramel color and taste, with figs, bitter orange preserves and some oxidized sherryesque features, but also something that is not altogether smooth and rounded of yet. Alcohol? Wood spice? Smoked tea? Could probably keep this for some time to come yet

Au Restaurant Violier, 3 macarons largement mérités! Fantastique, bravo! Avec les fromages, ce vin se mariait parfaitement bien. Une très jolie couleur miel de sapin, un nez de rancio et de noix, de la longueur, pas lourd, vraiment très bien.
