Caledonia Australis, Chardonnay, Gippsland

Bright, clear lemon-yellow colour. Big, sweet nose of cashew butter, vanilla fudge and grapegruit. Palate is full of sweet tropical flavours (passionfruit, banana, muskmelon), but the finish is highly acidic, with a persistent note of fresh lemon. Although the flavour is extremely powerful and the acidity is strong enough to balance it, they're quite disjointed and unstructured. A real loose cannon: wild, intense, aimless and exciting.
