With a year between or last bottle we can only say how absolutely wonderful this wine is. Minimal 1 plus hour decant. Sat in the glass while we barbequed. Possibly our favorite representation of what a full bodied Napa Cab should taste like. Just flat out delicious and such sorrow when the bottle runs out. Mild fruit, perfect warmth. So much going on here. Glad we bought when we did. Yum.

Very nice, well structured Cab which is the norm from Tom. Might not be his best vintage but is still a well done Cab! Enjoy!

A pretty classic Tom Eddy Cab; Big, well structured and complex, nice layers of flavor, nice nose, good color and smooth finish. Probably not the best vintage ever but still goes down real good! Enjoy!

Decanted for over 30 minutes. Cork was very solid and I used a regular corkscrew as opposed to an ah-so opener last time. Minimal sediments with a medium prune-garnet in colour. Nose of bright red berries, blackberries, hints of spice and fruitcake. On the palate, there are some really good red fruits and red currants with touches of espresso and chewing tobacco. Medium bodied with a medium+ finish. This one has a good amount of life left to it. Unfortunately, …

Nice balanced, smooth wine. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, and black cherry. Right now the wine is quite intense and needs more time in the bottle. Something to look forward to.

This is my last of 6 bottles, and it was the best. Equal parts red and black cherry, leather, and cassis. Smooth tannins and medium long finish. I like this produced because his Cabs are full bodied without being jammy or over-extracted.

Outstanding. Toms wines are built to cellar. I have had 20 year old wines from him and they stand up! This was great with lots in the tank.

Clear opaque dark garnet core with slight brick tinge at the rim. Healthy nose with medium intensity aromas. Perhaps a little closed with more of mineral and floral hints coming through. Maybe some light cherry and plum hints. Dry and with significant tannin. Medium to full body mouth feel and healthy dose of acidity. Not a lot of fruit, again muted, but drawing air you can pick up earthy and dark fruit flavors. Maybe some jam, coffee, and fig. Good …

If you are lucky enough to have a bottle, this 2008 version was simply excellent. I like that Tom Eddy made this wine in a “lighter” less extracted / jammy style, because the layers of red and black cherry, plum, forest soil, leather are more apparent and make the wine almost elegant. Well integrated oak. Great value. Drink now - 2020.

One hour decant(good thing I used an ah so opener). Has a medium garnet-brick red in colour. Bright nose of mixed berries, currants, and dark chocolate powder with a hint of cedar box. On the palate, there are cassis with some blackberries along with some dark tobacco, licorice, and black cherries at the end; hints of oak are detected as well. Medium-full bodied with a medium+ finish. Last tasted Jan 2013. Drink now.

Very nice, Big Cab. Kind of did a verticle (2006 & 2009) for Easter and the 2009 Wins, just a notch better across the board. But, you will really enjoy both!!

Needs a good hour to open and unfurl. In it's best drinking window right now, IMO. Red/black fruit and briar, some eucalyptus.....smooth tannins and spice in the middle, another solid Tom Eddy wine. Acidity is still very, very nice and leads to a long tapered ending. I'd drink it if you have it over the next year or two. It might end up too soft after that, but if that floats your boat, go for it!

Initially a little disjointed but settled down in about an hour. Generous nose of cassis and cedar. Lighter body than the nose suggests, with bright red fruit dominating. Tannins aren’t obvious at first, but definitely still there. Slightly bitter note on the finish, but an elegant and enjoyable wine to sip and savor. Smoother on day 2.

A very rich and voluptuous Tom Eddy, but never over the top. A mix of Diamond Mountain, Mt. Veeder, Atlas Peak and Mount George. Mostly dark fruits like blackberry, plum and also black licorice, but some ripe red fruit as well. Tannins are in balance. It is drinking well now but has an easy decade ahead of it still. 14.7% abv.

- Garnet color with a medium finish - This wine is really singing now. Dark purple to garnet color. No bricking. Rich but balanced with spicy plum and cassis. Rich but not overextracted. Moderate oak. Medium long finish. Pop and pour. A well made wine. (Note: This bottle spent the last 2 years stored at room temperature instead of the cellar, which no doubt accelerated).

- Brick color - Dark purple in the glass; lots of oak on the nose, and too tight and grippy on day 1; rich, young and full bodied, it did not begin to strut itself until day 3, suggesting this vintage needs more bottle time before it is in the beginnng of its optimal drinking window. Hold until 2016 or give it a really long decant.

Drank this with a friend. Notes from memory, it was good but not great. The fruit was a little shut down or over powered by oak. Now my friend loved it but he wants more oak than fruit. I have a couple more bottles and I plan to let them sit to see if the oak settles down a little.

Vanilla, blueberry and toasted oak on the nose. In the mouth, very up front and fruit driven almost a little too ripe. Nice soft texture and gives way to a dark fruit finish. Decanted for 3 hours.
