Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard Durif Nijhawan Family Vineyard

Pop&pour (actually Coravin). Surprised how fresh it's still drinking. Good thing as I still have several. I'm not in a big hurry, but probably finish them by next year realistically.

Decanted for 2 h. Dark purple. Rich just ripe blackberry aroma enhanced by herbs, earth, and brambles. Palate is bright cranberry crushed with blackberries with dense flavors. Very primary but great acids lift this wine. Tannins hit on the mid-palate that coats the tongue. Not as elegant as the other Durif's from Jeff, but still better than the vast majority of PS that I've had. Went really well Lockhart's smoked ribs.
