Featherstone Cabernet Franc Select Late Harvest

one of my favourite ontario cab francs. cherry, coffee and oak on the nose. palate has fine tannins and acidity to stand up to very rich dishes. very consistent wine.

Opaque almost purple colour. Complex bouquet from dark fruits and hints of tobacco and chocolate. Silky and velvety on the palate but could use some more acidity. Nice lingering finish. Drink up

light floral and black fruit nose. simple wine at $13.

Jammy cherry and strawberry nose that is low-to-medium intensity, with nice aroma replays on the palate. Quite sweet, with good, balanced acids and a medium-length finish. Simple and delicious.

Sour cherry, strawberry and earthy aromas. Medium-bodied with good integrated tannins. Cranberry-pomegranate flavours on the palate, some cherry as well. Nicely balanced with round mouthfeel. Smooth, medium-length finish.

The color on this wine is like a dark rose, much lighter than a cab franc ice wine. Raspberry and strawberry flavors. Somewhat simple in style, sweet but not much else. It would be good with strawberry shortcake. Drink up.

Bottled just two days prior to my tasting. Intense oak and cedar aromas with some raspberry and dark fruits in the background. Has good fruit, structure and acidity, but still very tight and grippy. Tannins will settle very nicely in a couple of years. Has potential to be better than 2010.
