Grower Champagnes (K&L Wine Merchants, Hollywood) : Pale color, hint of gold, fine bead. Aromatics of lemon and white peach with layered notes of crushed chalk, honeysuckle, slate, ginger, and hints of fresh herb and deeper mineral notes of flint of petrol. Racy green apple fruit flavors over layered, integrated secondary depth. Refined and seamless density, integrated and bright, with zesty lengthy finishing depth. Very nice.

Really tasty and easy to drink. Lemon cream and green apple all day long. No brioche or toasty notes as this is a recent release. Absolute crowd pleaser and something that totally can be opened for a pre dinner drink without having to contemplate anything.

2018 disgorgement. Still plenty of Vilmart citrus and verve but a touch darker in color and some added honey and caramel notes. Personally I don't love those notes in older Champagne so I don't feel the wine is better for the cellar age. Glad I've held some bottles back as an experiment but I'll probably go back to drinking these within 5 or so years of disgorgement.

Perman Champagne Night (Perman Wine Selections - Chicago IL) : Sit down tasting. Magnum disgorged on 2019. Chardonnay stands out here with its bright orchard fruit character throughout, but especially on its longish finish. Very good now with likely further upside from here.

Brought to BYOB restaurant. Just impressions as I didn't take notes. A little brioche followed by nice, crisp tart apples, lemons and minerals. Medium body with nice complexity. Always a reliable favorite when good bubblies are needed.

Solid producer. Their entry level n/v is quite nice, consistent in 375ml and still a good value in today’s champagne pricing. A producer that uses a bit more neutral wood than most other champagne houses. They were one of my stops in October 2023. Lemon/lime w/ zest, grapefruit w/ pith, oranges w/ rind, pineapple, white stone fruit, baguette crust, grainy, pronounced volcanics/limestone/chalkiness, white spice, sea fossils, frothy cream, very light caramel, vanillin, yellow and white flowers, lively acidity and a …

New Years Day: Vrai Champagne, Ninth Annual Edition (Brad & Marcia's Place, St. Paul, MN) : Medium strawberry color. Small pour. Brief note. This has more intensity, lots of red berry fruits, citrus, chalk, yeast, fairly creamy texture, and plenty of of spiciness on the back end. 91 to 91+pts.

Racy but elegant Champagne with pinot based fruitiness/body and chardonnay freshness, and notes of pear, raspberry, roasted nuts, brioche, and a creamy finish. Suckling and Wine Spectator rated 92p. Disgorged 2014. Pink with trace of orange. Plenty of fine bubbles. Subtle ripe red apple nose. The nose suggested a fruity palate but the dry, quite complex notes of citrus, red apples, red berries and biscuit was a very pleasant surprise. Good length and was highly enjoyable with Christmas Lunch.

Light gold color. 70% Chard and 30% Pinot Noir, Disg 2018. Drank a couple glasses from magnum on Christmas Eve with family. Bready and lively on the nose, bright, apple, and dried spice. The palate show the green apple notes, medium bodiy, yeast, chiffon texture, lovely minerality, nice beam of acidity. Loved the extra cellar time; this was really good.

I struggle with the price of almost $100 a bottle in nyc. It feels well made, but not much depth or complexity. For that price I can’t help but feel I could have a world class Italian wine with much more depth

Pre-Christmas Gathering and Dinner with friends. This Champagne opened beautifully with a deepening straw colour and a fine persistent bead. The nose is immediately attractive with lemon zest, grapefruit, white peach, red apple, strawberry nougat and brioche. The palate is beautifully structured with intense fruit bolstered by strong Pinot touches despite the predominance of Chardonnay in the cepage which provides the grip and drive that just lingers beautifully on the palate. This is really good !

Forgot to post a note on a recent btl just before Christmas. This is one our fav rose', year in year out, and I've run of superlatives to assign it. Checking the running average score on CT it looks to come in around 91pts. I, 110% believe after drinking wine for decades that the only score that matters is...our own (yours & mine). Nice to look at what other tasters think but, in the end, finding wines I personally rate …

A blend of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay. 2022 base vintage, with reserve wines from 2021 and 2020. Disgorged in July 2024. Deep pink. Very foamy. Red fruit, red cherry, ripe strawberry, blood orange, bread crust, and brioche. Fruit-driven. Good fruit, and good concentration, with supporting acidity, and creamy, ultra-fine mousse.

chalk dust, green almond, and crystalline citrus steering the wine toward a long, humming finish. There is a subtle herbaceous snap (lemon verbena, fennel frond) that keeps everything taut. Superior in quality and value if at $65.

February 2024 disgorgement. Open and generous on the nose with notes of orchard fruit, golden and red apple, and chalk. Crisp, with fine texture on the palate showing some of the elevage in wood, with notes of citrus and a crisp mineral backbone on the finish. This is in a better place than I expected given its youth.

Oh Lordy, so delicious. My upscale "house Champagne"...lucky me. DG 04/2022. Enjoyed with sushi and my wifey after a long workweek. Limes, Granny Smith apples, ginger, chalky minerality, warm biscuits. Happiness in a bottle. Acid for dayz. Finish goes on and on. Love love.
