This is such a qualitative homerun for Sachsen! I believe 2008 is one of the strongest vintages in the last decade and i a region with great vintage variation, that is of course very important! This is less spectacular than when I last had it a couple of years ago, but it is still a masterpiece! This less known clone of Pinot Noir from an old DDR-wine district bested a selection of very good wines including a Serene Evenstad, d'Arenberg Dead Arm, Pax Walker Vine Hill, Carlisle Montafi Zinfandel and several others.
