Very light straw color, nose with green apples, a bit of exotic fruits (but not lychees), some minerality, medium body, very dry and mineral palate, high acidity, fairly aromatic, medium length and a bit salty finish. Huge difference from German and Alsace wines, actually in the blind tasting I would never guess that this is Gewurtz... Anyway, not bad at all and I think this wine will be even better in couple of years.

Pretty and bright floral notes on the nose. Just short of medium bodied, with soft, open mostly tropical fruit notes upfront. Acidity does come in on the backside, providing some structure, but this is primarily a fruit driven wine (not enough spice notes or acidity to give it a real edge). Mineral and peach show nicely on the finish. Overall, a solid wine that's a pleasant bottle for current drinking.

87 seems to be a typical rating and I agree. With Thanksgiving dinner we had a 2013, which was much better- we gave it a 90 YET the 2013 was not quite as good when we had it last Thanksgiving (2015) and gave it a 88. We had this with leftovers and it was not as good as the 2013. This has been our go-to Gewurz for T giving since the 1980's. My conclusion is that most likely it needs …

Darn is that good Gewurtz. Mineral and powerful but with a ripe peachy nose. And really long, savory. Fat in the mid, of course but the back end cleans it up.
