A bit of an animal nose, earthy, not unpleasant. Very well balanced; smooth, integrated tannin with a smoky, sweet aspect, medium finish, a [pleasure to drink with quite subtle complexity - 87-88pts.

A really deep, dark colour with just a hint of bricking on the swirl. A sweet smoky nose with a little spice and liquorice. Good structure in the mouth; some tannic grip, a little acidity and plenty of texture. There's fruit but maybe too much oak on the mid-palate before it smooths off for the long finish. A nice, chunky wine. 87-88pts.

Incredible value for money. Bought for £5.50 ($10 USD). Colour is a lot lighter than you would expect for a 2004 argentine wine - fading at the rim a little. Slight smell of burnt alcohol on the nose but that gives way to more pleasant smells of berries. Overall smell is not brilliant - slightly metalic and muted.
