Domaine Thomas Morey Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière

A nose of ripe cherries and violets. The medium weight palate is supported with good acidity and some grippy tannins.

Decanted for thirty minutes and consumed over three hours. I was pleased with this bottle of Burgundy. Open from the get go, florals and violets backed with an earthy and somewhat herbaceous core on the nose. The palate is pretty easygoing, although it gained some weight with air, with red fruit and tea and the same herbal and earthy character. This is drinking well now and may improve a bit over the next few years.
