Fincas Goyo (2019) : Scented. Of luxuriant, concentrated, fresh black fruit viscera. This aroma is animated elegantly, in a gently discernible way, with a cooling spine of terpene—mint, currant, citric/evergreen; rigid, slender, slicing. Tannins are organized and cut-paper dry—a little immature and strident of grip, without displacing any pleasure. Thriving acidity is entirely from fruit, mostly ripe skins. There’s a whisper of constructive, mouthwatering saline. It tastes/feels very properly of Ribera del Duero—windswept briar, roasted thyme, pollen, pitch, baked limestone …

This is fresh and delicious with tasty and tangy cherry fruit and a lifted, floral quality with crisp but not overdone acidity. Succulent and smooth with a delicious spice-driven finish. Not complex but a lovely quaffer that goes with so many different foods.
