Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Angles

nice mellow wine. slight barnyard that blew off and turned into mushrooms and damp earth. almost no tannins, fruit is moving to the background but overall a very smooth wine. it played a nice supporting role to dinner.

Lovely nose of dried cherries and raspberries wrapped around a slightly damp earth with soft well integrated tannins, solid minerality and a clean aftertaste. decanted for a hour and drank from Riedel Burg glass, this wined showed very well and kept begging for another sip. Too bad I had six people over and the bottle disappeared faster then a speeding bullet. not sure i gave it enough time to really show its stuff.
