My first experience with this producer and the rare ‘Tressaillier’ wines. This variety was imported by monks from Italy to France in the thirteenth century (Auxerre region), but nowadays only twelve hectares remain planted in the Saint-Pourçaint region (upper Loire). The name of this grape varietal is etymologically derived of ‘Trans-Allier’, meaning ‘from across the Allier River’.
