Muddy purple color. Floral aromas. Dusty dark fruit and cranberry flavors with leather on an acidic finish. Good with food.

Forward nose of flowers, dark berries, and earth. Clear juicy fruit on the palate, with firm acid backing and a dry tannic finish. A good second wine for the evening. 50 + 16 + 15 + 7 = 88.

Aromas of dark plums and undergrowth, with a hint of something medicinal and a bit of alcoholic heat. Concentrated fruit on the palate, rich tannins, a little hollow in the middle with a strong tannic finish. I can imagine quaffing this wine quite contentedly with a rustic stew; not for extended contemplation. 50 + 14 + 15 + 7 = 86.

Muddy redish purple color. Musty cellar aromas. Dusty dark fruit and tar flavors with leather. Decent acidity on the finish.

Dark ruby. Earth, blackcurrant, sweet spice, oregano on the nose. Palate staining concentrated fruit with strong tannin support, long finish. Powerful rustic wine, great with pizza. 50 + 16 + 15 + 8.

Dark ruby purple. A bit of alcoholic heat, dry dusty blueberry fruit on the nose. Jammy dark fruit on the palate with gripping tannic edge and surprising floral lift on the finish. Not a perfect wine by any means, but interesting despite its flaws, commanding attention and satisfying with the right food (pork chops, onions, quince). 50 + 15 + 15 + 7.

No detailed notes. Drank at party. People seemed to like. Nice tang. Good tannins. Good wine.

Sweet and mellow black fruit through the mid palate. Some fake oak on it? But it integrates well. Palate is just a touch turgid but the bottle was just open too. Needing some time perhaps to flesh itself out. Or my palate is just off from a break of two weeks. Some gutsy tannin showing through on the finish.
