Drinking beautifully now. Cellar temp, over a long dinner. Paired perfectly with smoked mackerel and trout. Very rich texture, long glycerine finish. Touch of mint/spice on initial taste, with strong acidity to balance richness.

Last vintage fully made by Didier. Excellent. Short of oily but definitely a dense and rich texture for Sauvignon. Fresh and clean, bright yellow fruit. Late night off the list, notes from memory.

"Baby are you okay? You've barely touched your Char-spookerie." (Chicago, IL) : Served double blind. Incredibly floral nose, to the point where I thought this was viognier, but with acidity. The strangeness was having the aromatic intensity along with the acidity; a bit of a stumper, I couldn't think of anything that had that sort of profile. A good amount of alcohol on the back end as well. After the reveal, I'll admit that this wine made sense. Despite my …

Pop and pour, notes from 3 hrs open. As with the Pur Sang, this needs a lot of air right now. With air, this is stunning. Gooseberry, sour apple, lemon oil, mint leaf. On the palate: great density and richness, but balanced by fantastic acidity. Mint-infused oil, lemon peel, lovely herbal notes. Lovely, clean finish.

50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 17 + Algemeen …

Seems like this bottling is their rounder, richer and a bit flabbier though and sweeter rounder feel. Lacks a bit of focus and precision like Pur Sang & Silex. 89

FROM MAGNUM: This was a very gracious contribution from my best man during the wedding weekend. The cork was saturated up 9/10 of the way and this seemed to be in a perfect place. The balance, elegance, and tension Didier could harness were all on display here. In a house that was half full of “I prefer reds” everyone was crooning over how lovely this was. The verve, balance, and elegance were front & center as we celebrated our weekend …

50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: …

At dinner with my beautiful Bride so no copious notes. What can I say, it’s Dageneau. It’s sleek, elegant and expressive albeit way too young. Excellent aromas, body, structure, balance. Excellent Pouilly-Fume and worth the money. Sorry not much help beyond that. Note: Please forgive my errant reference to white burg prior to this edit. It as an obvious ‘brain fart’ since the wine is from the Loire Valley. Thanks to Kirk for catching it and very tactfully asking why …

a few of my 07s have regrettably gone down the drain on account of age, but this bottle was magnificent, with acidity and complex, spicy flavors of candied lemon peel and pear. if anyone reading this still has any 07s in the cellar, i would strongly suggest pulling the cork asap and crossing your fingers!

Uncorked 1 hour in advance. Very Dagueneau all over. Very mineral nose, heavy fruit perfume on the nose - some of it tropical. The palate very balanced, heavy full body. a great wine. Best 2017-2022. 92-93.

Tons of minerals, notes of guava and lemon zest. I confess that I'm not entirely sure about the cellaring potential of these wines - this seemed pretty ready and I'm not sure I would like what it might turn into. Time will tell.

Initially tight but opened up quite nicely over an hour. Lemon curd, grassiness, brine....as a friend said "it smells nice and inviting". Bracing acidity, really fresh and pops in the mouth. Fully body. Almost unctuous. Long finish. Really a great bottle.

From the Enomatic machine at Hedonism Wines. Funky nose here - grassy green gooseberries and somehow just a hint of sweet botrytis. On the palate, this is totally different. Intense green acidity. Very thick texture, but this never gets goopy. Kind of weird how different the nose is from the palate, but somehow it all still works.

Big Wednesday Wine Night (Extra Space) : Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with a complex melange of aromas - smoky, flint minerality, citrus fruits, and some oily notes. On the palate, this wine has mouth-watering high acidity, on a full body with flavours of citrus fruits, lemon, lime, stony minerality, slight chalk, and also a vanilla creaminess that I think must be some kind of oak influence. Long finish. Excellent mouth-feel and so …

beautiful, herbal, focused, ripping high acid, extremely precise wine. This is in a great place right now. I decanted mine for probably an hour and a half. There's a lot of tart citrus fruit in there, which might be a little much for some, but the pretty floral and tealike aromas kept me coming back, and I like tart citrus. outstanding.

oodles of crushed seashells, gooseberry and pear. Lemon zest on the palate with a significant chalky mineral element and some savory notes. Ready now and would probably keep evolving for a few more years.

Algemeen / potentieel: Geweldig mooie Sauvignon Blanc. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 12 + Smaak / Afdronk: 17 + Algemeen / potentieel: 8 = 92/100

At "An Afternoon of Ovid" burger grill All wet stone on the nose with a little meadow grass. Pop & pour--doesn't scream SauvBl at first. Lots of mineral, light grapefruit and lime. Strong essence of gingersnap and paraffin. Very round, almost RS sweetness on the finish. Very creamy mouthfeel. Nice mouthwatering acidic astringency.
