Dark ruby in the glass, with fresh nose of mulberries, plums, sweet blackberries, very appealing. Good acidity, medium tannins, mouthwatering notes of plums, blackberries, pepper, tobacco - wow so much going on. Ending is long, with lingering black fruits, a tad of oak and spice. In a good spot, with lots of potential to improve still. Surprisingly good and complex Petite Syrah, which will deserve 2 points more if it will develop a bit more complexity.

Beautiful color and great nose. Lots of blackberry and blueberry. Michelle found it a little acidic as did I. Not bad juice though

This wine is at its peak; she is mature, mellow and smooth. Dark, garnet color; heavy jam and dark berries; well balanced and integrated; short finish

Absolutely delicious. Popped and poured and really started to sing after a half hour in the glass. Paired with grilled salmon and beef shoulder.

Very dark plum color. Heavy, dense and very full bodied with black fruit taste up front. Should not wait to drink the next bottle, drinking wonderfully now.

Decanted for three hours. Does not compare well to previous vintages as it contained an off-putting earthy note and certainly not as rich. Will not rate since this may be an "off" bottle that I purchased through an online auction website. Caveat Emptor.

wonderful and "yummy". Very dark color and almost plum (purple) in color and yes, very inky. Ready to drink and since we like them young we should consume the others in the next few years

Paired with grilled chicken and portabella mushrooms. Showing very well right now.

Inky in color, the wine is big, concentrated and mouth coating. There is nothing shy about this dense wine that ends with an interesting menthol note in the long, tannic, fruity finish.

This is still pretty closed; needs at least a couple more years in the cellar. But there is a lot of potential here. Decanted for an hour and probably should have let it open up for another 2-3 hours. But hey, I don't buy wine to watch it sit in a decanter for three hours...plus it's Friday night. This is a big, teeth-staining bottle, midnight black in color and lots of black fruit. Very tannic. Tasty!

Very dark inky purple wine. Powerful nose of sweet black fruits and heat. On the palate there's significant acid that seems to take center stage with dark fruits in the background. Some noticeable heat. Tannins are firm, but fine. Did not really enjoy what I was drinking, though that might come down to a stylistic preference. It would benefit from a few years cellaring and could improve a bit.

PnVnD. Extremely dark with a tinge of dark maroon around the rim. Glass staining and even the bubbles are super dark. After 1hr, black and blue fruits emerge, but it wasn't as in-your-face as I expected. Floral hints with leather and tobacco undertones. On the palate, there is a decent amount of acidity to carry the fruit. The tannins are significant, but they are fine grained and don't really suck your mouth dry...I'm sure the Vinturi and decanting helped. The …

Bought this as part of a Lot 18 vertical offer, and I meant to grab the 2005 instead of the 2007. Oh well. Deep, dark purple, dense fruit with smokey black fruit and tobacco leaf. Good but needs at least 2-4 more years of bottle aging.
