Dark red at the core, becoming translucent to the rim. Bit shy on the nose at first, then develops pleasant aroma of black cherries. Intense and focused on the palate, black cherries, plums, herbs, licorice, a smoky note. Fine tannins, sharp acidity (not in a bad way), excellent balance. Finishes long and intense, anise and berry notes. Gorgeous, but give it air -- it becomes sweeter and smoother. If you happen to have any, it will drink well for 5 …

Popped and poured. Deep dark ruby color, with lots of red berry fruit. A well balanced Grenache that's drinking nicely. Quite a bit of sediment, so probably been better to decant, but still very enjoyable nonetheless. This was even better on day 2.

Refined fruit, taste of tobacco. Waited for 20 minutes to drink. Excellent wine.

Extracted dark fruit, dusty and a slight hint of herby molasses. Drinking very well right now

Bright red berry, crushed raspberry/strawberry fruit....still quite tannic and showing a little aged dryness. Wonderful sweet floral spices, anise, dried berries. As the night went on, more earth tones came out, became drier, short finish. Threw a lot of sediment. Big structure, but might not have enough fruit to last. Still tasty, but drink up.

Deep dark color. interesting nose. Heavy weight. Tannin bomb. Needs another 5 years.

Fantastic stuff. This had a very dark purple/grape juice color, with subtle floral aromas. It was full-bodied and concentrated, with perfect balance: lots of fruit, but with plenty of structure and complexity. Very smooth. The fruit tended toward the darker fruit, and I likely would not have picked this out as a California Grenache. The tannins are there and this can age, but it certainly is pleasurable now.
