Quinta da Pellada, Carrocel, Dao

Not super expressive, but delicious.

Poured into a Grassl Universal glass. The body is deep with light hues of red but appears to be more extracted than expected. On the nose, giant notes of cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, dark red fruits. It's intense. Flavour wise, it's elegant with the presence of said dark red fruits, just a little bit too extracted and with a perceived alcoholic note that appears to be just too showy. Tannins are firm but could be better if they were less present. …

Restaurant pop and decant - somewhat difficult cork. Well, I must admit to being somewhat disappointing with this one - yes, a pretty good wine with a very long finish, but the 2011 is amazing and I'd rather hoped an older, more mature, vintage would give me an indication where they might be heading.

Tiefdunkle Farbe. Reife, süße Früchte, Datteln, Mokka, portweinartig, wunderbar tief. Am Gaumen jedoch unrund, nicht im perfekten Stadium, geht besser, wirkt bereits etwas gezehrt und über dem Zenit.
